English farmers have been contending with the driest July ever recorded by the Met Office weather agency, with crop yields falling and concerns over food security gripping Britain’s headlines.
Some farmers are experimenting with more drought-tolerant crops, such as chickpeas, but they say they need more support from the UK government.
