The UK government is set to announce up to £50m funding for experiments to dim the sun.
In a bid to slow the effects of global warming, scientists will experiment with different strategies to reflect sunlight back into the atmosphere.
These experiments will be conducted in controlled outdoor experiments to minimise any potential side effects on the environment.
