Webinar # 14: A Look Back- Series Summary

130 Years of Public Japanese Gardens in the U.S. is 14-part webinar series co-presented and funded by The Japan Foundation that seeks to uncover the history, development and future of public Japanese gardens in the United States.

Webinar # 14, the conclusion of the series, premiered on May 19th, 2021. In this final session, we were re-joined by Dr. Kendall Brown and Dr. Makoto Suzuki. Dr. Brown and Dr. Suzuki kicked off this series by participating in our inaugural webinar and provided important context for us to appreciate the long history of Japanese gardens in the United States. In this session, they reflected on the past 13 weeks and shared their thoughts on the future of Japanese gardens.

We thank Kiyomi Fukui, Reiko Nishioka, Daisuke Takahashi, and Angela Stassano for their translations.
