Bridging leadership represents a paradigm shift in our approach to leadership: a movement away from less-inclusive forms of decision-making that have dominated much of human history.
In our increasingly interconnected world, this form of leadership is essential for creating the collaboration needed to solve local, national and global challenges.
The Bridging Leadership Award was first presented in 2003 to David Rockefeller, for whom it is now named. This year’s award was presented to three leaders who exemplify this inclusive approach to solving complex problems:
– Marc Benioff, Founder, Chair & CEO, Salesforce
– Christiana Figueres, Founding Partner, Global Optimism
– Eddie Ndopu, United Nations Secretary-General’s Global Advocate for Sustainable Development
Figueras and Ndopu joined Synergos’ founder, Peggy Dulany, in conversation about the leadership to create a better world, while Benioff shared a message about the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration.
Two dozen members of Synergos’ global networks, including Joumana al Jabri, Andrew Baird, Othman Benjelloun, Mamta Borgoyary, Serge Dumont, Darren Godwell, Esha Husain, Güler Sabanci, Mo Ibrahim , Raza Jafar, Rehmah Kasule, Graça Machel, Mhlalisi Ncube, Kennedy Odede, Esra Özsüer, Carla Roberts, Andrea Rodericks, Corazon Soliman, Tao Ze, Darren Walker, and more.
New York-based and South African-born singer and songwriter Tuelo Minah shared her music.
The event was hosted by Zainab Salbi, with contributions from Paul Polman of Imagine and Synergos’ Henri van Eeghen and Marilia Bezerra.
