Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is tackling the supposed dangers of chemtrails in an upcoming federal bill. The bill would ban the airborne release of chemicals intended to alter the “weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity,” Greene stated on X.
Chemtrail believers argue the visible streaks left behind by planes are evidence of toxins being used to control the weather or make us sick. But these streaks are actually contrails: condensation that happens when jet fuel exhaust (mostly water vapor) mixes with cold, humid air.
But Greene isn’t the only right-winger pushing this conspiracy theory.
